A Young Eagles Rally, will be hosted by Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 12 at the Lone Star Flight Museum on Saturday, 15 June 2019 at Ellington Field, 11551 Aerospace Avenue, Houston, TX 77034. Rally Hours are from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated more than 25 years to giving youth ages 8–17 an introduction to aviation through free flights.
It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
Today, more than 2 million young people have enjoyed a free introductory flight through the Young Eagles program. These flights are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
Free admission to the museum will be provide to YE participants and their parents (guardians), and a special price is available for other family members.
Preregistration: Registered YE participants will be given priority over walk-ins on Saturday as we may not be able to accomodate all the youth that are interested in flying. Parents may register at https://youngeaglesday.org?442
Following the flight, each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle. Their name will then be entered into the “World’s Largest Logbook,” which is on permanent display at the EAA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh, WI. The Logbook is also accessible on the Internet a www.youngeagles.org.
In addition to the Certificate, the new Young Eagle will be given a Logbook with an access code for a complete free online Flight Training course offered by Sporty’s.
In case of inclement flying weather, this Young Eagle event will be rescheduled later in the year (TBD).
